Free ArduPilot log viewer

Open an ArduPilot .bin log or a .tlog telemetry log and see the flight on a map, replay it, fly it in 3D, read the charts and download a PDF report. Logs are read in your browser, with no signup and nothing to install.

See the flight, not just the graphs

Mission Planner plots every message in the log, which is what you want for tuning. This viewer shows the flight itself, the way a chief pilot or a client wants to see it.

Overview

The flight path on a map with duration, distance, top speed, highest altitude and battery use, plus events such as takeoff, peak altitude and low battery.

Replay

Play the flight back over satellite imagery with live height, speed, heading, battery and satellite readouts, and a timeline of flight modes.

3D view

Follow the drone over 3D terrain, orbit around it, or ride along from the cockpit.

Image studio

Make a clean picture of the flight path for a client report or a post, with your choice of map, angle and info card.

Charts

Altitude, speed, battery and orientation over the whole flight, all moving with one playhead.

Export

Download a PDF flight report, every reading as a spreadsheet for Excel or Google Sheets, or the full processed log.

The two ArduPilot logs and where to find them

ArduPilot keeps one log on the aircraft and one on the ground station. Both open here.

.bin DataFlash log

Written on the aircraft

The flight controller writes it to its SD card in APM/LOGS. Pull the card, or download it in Mission Planner from the DataFlash Logs tab. It holds everything at full rate: GPS, height, attitude, battery, flight modes, takeoff and landing.

.tlog telemetry log

Saved by the ground station

Mission Planner and QGroundControl save one on the laptop every time they connect to the aircraft, by default under Documents > Mission Planner > logs and Documents > QGroundControl > Telemetry. It holds what came down the radio link a few times a second, with gaps where the link dropped.

Which aircraft

Copter, Plane and QuadPlane

Multirotors, fixed wings and VTOL QuadPlanes all open, including the Inspired Flight IF800 and IF1200. Logs from rovers, boats and submarines are turned away, since there is no flight to show.

When an ArduPilot log will not open

The viewer tells you why instead of showing an empty map.

It came from the simulator

Logs from SITL and other simulators are recognized and turned away, so test runs on a laptop never pass for real flights.

The aircraft never took off

A log from a bench test, where the aircraft was armed but never left the ground, has no flight in it.

The .tlog holds more than one aircraft

If the ground station talked to several aircraft in one session, the viewer cannot tell which flight to show. Open the .bin from each aircraft instead.

It is over 300 MB

Logs open up to 300 MB. Bigger .bin files usually come from very long sessions with every log message turned on.

Your logs stay on your computer

ArduPilot logs are read inside your browser, and a log that opens never leaves your device. If a file cannot be opened, it is sent to us so we can add support for it, and it is scheduled to be deleted automatically after one day.
